5 Signs That Your Husband Has Become Your Best Friend
I have to make a confession. When I first met my husband I didn’t really think that he would ever become my best friend. The love of my life? Sure! But replace the girls who loved me at my lowest, encouraged me to try even if I failed, and stood up for me when others thought I was a loser? No way! That job was already taken. But then I became his girlfriend, his fiancé, and eventually his wife and without even realizing it, he had become my best friend. Thankfully he hasn’t fully replaced my girlfriends because I will always need them too, but he is undoubtedly my best friend. Has this ever happened to you? Well if it is hasn’t I hope it does! Here are a few signs that your husband has become your best friend.
He Knows Everything About Me
If he didn’t know everything about me when I said ‘I do,’ he definitely does now. The more time you spend with someone the more you talk and learn about each other. He might not share every memory with me from the past 28 years, but he has heard the story at least twice.
He Has My Back
Thankfully, I haven’t been in many situations where I need protection but if I was I know that he has my back. He is there for me no matter what. Even if I am getting on his very last nerve, he is my man and he won’t let anything happen to me.
We Can Spend Hours Talking
Since I moved 300 miles away from my best friends, our days of leisurely strolling through Target and talking for hours are over. Or at least I thought they were. Now, I find myself curled up on the couch talking the night away with my man. Once again it isn’t exactly ‘girl talk’ but I know that I can talk to him about anything.
You Start Liking the Same Things
My husband is into Star Wars and video games and I’d rather read or travel. In our case, opposites do attract. But over the past two years I’ve watched all 7 Star Wars movies and actually enjoyed them! I’ve also talked my husband into exploring new towns with me and we have had a lot of fun together. The line between ‘his’ hobbies and ‘my’ have been blurred so that we both get to do what we enjoy and we get to be together.
We Laugh Together and Cry Together
I hope that our life is always more full of laughter than tears but either way I know my husband will be right there beside me. He will hold me when I cry and dance around the living room with me when we have a reason to celebrate.
And there you have it. 5 signs that my husband has become my best friend. He is my best friend. I still can’t believe that I have been so lucky to marry my best friend but I have. And do you know what’s even better? Those girls that have been my best friends for so many years got married and their husbands have become their best friends as well. No one got replaced, instead we all ended up with the right person. What a blessing to spend every day with not just my husband, but my best friend.
Do you think it’s possible for your husband to be your best friend? If you are single then I encourage you to keep looking until you find a man who can become your best friend.
