How to look, and consequently feel, like you've got your life together, when you totally don't.
It's no secret that your twenties feel like being lost in a mall. I mean you know you're in the mall. Maybe even know what store your in. But you're clueless about the rest. It is time I shed some wisdom on how to make that appear less obvious. hehe! Once you start looking like you have your life all together you will start feeling like you have your life all together! Granted it still might not be true. But you can hold onto that feeling! Let me share my secrets with you!
1. Put A Dress On!
I know what you're thinking "But I haven't shaved my legs in weeks!" Home girl. God invented the maxi skirt for a reason. Put it on and you will suddenly feel like you are put together! It's magic! And you don't have to wear pants! So #BonusAwesome!
These from ModCloth are ADORABLE!
2. Get A Planner
That's right! Get a planner! I don't care if it's the $3 one from the Target dollar bins or if it's a fancy schmancy one! Put that thing in your purse! Heck you may never even use it! But you will feel grown up having a paper planner that you can grab in case an emergency planning situation comes up. I mean that's not a real issue that could come up. But ya know, just in case. (Here's my favorite planer!)
3. Buy grocery store flowers
The grocery store near us has a $4 bin that usually has cheap flowers or nice flowers at the end of their life. I love this bin. Grab the flowers, stick them in the vase, and if anyone asks, you got them from the local farmers market! Bam! #Adulting
4. Buy tiny things for your guest bathroom
Go to the section of the store with all the little travel size things! Buy toothpaste and little bottles of soaps/shampoos and stick them in the bathroom. Now it looks like you're the hostess with the mostess even if no one stays the night and needs them. You look like a legit grown up host.
5. Artwork for your walls!
Nothing says college dorm like an empty wall or a wall with Christmas Lights on it. Although I love Christmas lights (I had them up in my dorm and my first apartment) just maybe not for your grown up living space. Get some wall art! If you have an at Home store or even a Hobby Lobby near you they often have wall art work at really low prices. Also try printable art from Etsy! My friend Betsy at Happily Ever After Etc did a great round up of printable pieces you can see here! And also Mama Designed is one of my favorite printable shops! Print and go buy a dollar store frame or some clipboards! Easy peasy!
