So you might be wondering why I am sharing these terribly unflattering photos of myself on my blog. Maybe I've lost my mind. Maybe sharing it online creates a sense of accountability. I guess we'll never know! But today I am starting a 10 week Team Beachbody/Shakeology challenge. It's a piyo 10 week course! And since ten weeks is a long time I want to make sure I document the change.

Posting these pictures is a little humiliating. Especially since I talk about healthy eating so much. I eat pretty healthy but I would rather have a limb cut off than go to the gym. I am sooo out of shape. And sadly health is more than just eating well. I need to move more than just from my bed to my lap top. But I also need someone, besides my intimidatingly in shape husband, to motivate me to do this! A Facebook friend of mine, Kelli, is a coach for Beachbody and runs these challenge groups. She's going to make me do this! Plus they have vegan shakes that aren't soy based!!! Ah! Can you hear the angels singing? Cause I can!

 

So over these next ten weeks I will be pushed to physically do piyo! Ah! I have never done this but the videos I have seen on youtube make it look like a modern 80's cardio workout video. But like with more sweat. Maybe 80's cardio/cross fit? I don't know! I will keep you updated on all of that!

 

I will also be carefully monitoring my diet along with the physical workouts! I fell like this part may be easier for me. Except I am going to be cutting out Starbucks drinks (unless it's black coffee) and I'm not completely cutting out wine because that would be dangerous for everyone, but limiting wine to once a week. A glass of red wine has become almost nightly here and even though it's supposedly good for your heart to have a glass of red wine everyday, probably not great on my waist. 

 

I plan on giving you guys a half way update (weather you want it or not.) and then a final update. I am not looking to loose tons of weight. Maybe 5-10 pounds. But mostly just want to get healthier so I don't get winded taking the kids I nanny on a walk. I gotta muscle up a bit! So there you have it! Those are my goals! And these are my "before" photos! Also: taking these kinds of photos makes you feel like you're getting mug shots! haha!
