How many people feel like it’s easy to waste time on social media? Even though I do it for a living, there are times where I find myself not focused on the task at hand. If you manage social media for your business, the best thing you can do is ignore the noise and stay focused on the platforms. Here are some tips to help you be efficient on social.
Create Content Calendars
I have no idea how a biz or blogger gets by without a content calendar. A content calendar is so useful because it helps put a strategy in place as well as, help you batch all of your tasks for the week. For example, one of the restaurants I was managing would take photos of all of the menu items in bulk. By doing this, it allowed me to have high-quality foodie pictures ready to go and made my content creation for the month much easier.
Use A Scheduling Tool
Social Media takes a lot of time out of everyone’s day which is why it is best for you to use a scheduling tool. Automation helps when you are busy and don’t have time to go on Twitter to tweet or post on Facebook. I would schedule out three tweets a day for the whole week for my clients on Mondays. That made it easier on myself knowing 21 tweets were already created and scheduled out, and I didn’t have to worry about posting on the fly! Some social media scheduling tools include Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout, Boardbooster & Co-Schedule.
Sharing and curating content is an excellent way to be efficient. It saves you time and also builds credibility. Here are some ways to curate content, repost a fantastic Instagram post using the Repost App. Share an amazing blog post by subscribing to your favorite bloggers. Create a list on Twitter, add people who create similar content and Retweet it to your audience.
